Aurora

Aurora Aksnes, born June 15 1995 in Stavanger and known professionally as Aurora sometimes stylized in uppercase as AURORA is an Norwegian singer and songwriter. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves has been released by Decca Records and was well welcomed by blogs about music. Half the World Away, by the Oasis band for John Lewis Christmas advertisements and Nature Boy by Nat King Cole are just two of her most well-known recordings. Her name was also recognized from a post by Katy Perry where Perry endorsed the song Runaway. Make it a day to celebrate her birthday. Aurora Aksnes' earliest musical memories are of discovering an instrument hidden in the attic of her home, and being captivated by the sound it made. Jan Oystein Aksnes, her parents, May Britt Aksnes and Jan Oystein Aksnes, encouraged their daughter to learn music as a passion rather as a career. To achieve this she started writing her own original compositions. Bjork and Leonard Cohen are among her most favored songwriters. In response to her mother's suggestion that people shouldn't be trying to become famous with the songs she writes, but rather be aware of the significance of them and the impact they have on society. When she was six she started playing the piano, and when she was nine, started writing songs. Her family didn't know until the age of fourteen. Aurora never dreamed of being a famous singer. Her sole passion is writing music. She claims that music is her most preferred way of feeling something.
